Recently headlines in newspapers have warned of the dangers of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to humanity. In this seminar, we will attempt to clarify some confusion and misunderstanding surrounding this by giving an update on the current state of the science and technology of AI. We will also highlight imminent threats to the general economy and society arising as consequences of pervasive automation.
